The 100th Stampede Week that was

As today is day 9 of the 100th edition of the Calgary Stampede, it is winding down. It has been an interesting week as usual for the Stampede. Garth Brooks performed and from all reviews put on an out standing concert.

Attendance records at the Calgary Stampede. Specifically, Monday and Thursday, and it is expected that the overall attendance record will be broken. As of Thursday the total was 974,759.

We also had a tragic accident at the Chuck Wagon races this week which led to calls and debate about the validity of the races. Animal Rights Groups called for a ban of the races.

Prime Minister Harper said Calgary is Canada's greatest city. Calgarians agreed.

The heat! Oh, the heat!  It was so hot jokes poured out everywhere.

And we had the explosion at Shaw which caused many problems this week.
